  • Okay... so I have been home for 3 days straight, in bed, on the couch, on the floor, proped up under 5 pillows, anything to breathe. I have watched so many home make-over shows, Ellen shows, Oprah, soap operas (oh the drama... yikes) and anything else on tv that kept my mind off being sick! I am so glad to be feeling almost 90% better, I actually enjoyed some time tonight outside the four walls of my bedroom, and the four walls of my living room. I will say that, with all the television I've watched and the home makeover shows, as soon as I was feeling an ounce better, I rearranged things, re-decorated the place and was movitated to knock down a few walls and re-paint the whole thing until I realized... opps, I forgot we are renting... bummer! The limitations of renting. Oh well.

I do have one complaint though, in these past three days, I have been using Airborne which everyone swears by, I took it as I first felt sick, while I was getting sick, when I was sick, when I thought I might sufficate and die (okay maybe a little exaggeration) and when I started to feel better... this was a long process. It doesn't work, at least not as everyone described it would. Am I using it wrong, can someone please clarify, because I think the huge bottle of orange juice I drank did far more that all the times I used Airborne altogether! Am I immune, does anyone else feel this way?? Hmmmm.....

Alright enough sick talk, I am so excited to be getting better, I picked up a shift tomorrow at work and I am soooo excited! Haven't felt that excited to work on a Sunday afternoon in a while!

Oh and tomorrow I am visiting Midway's early morning service! I have missed everyone and my sis in town and I want to go to church with the family. So I hope to see all my buddies I miss tomorrow!

  • So its 3:47am, and I am up and have been up  :( I have been very healthy for a while now, no sickness in about a year! That is very impressive for those of you who know me. The last couple days I have been sneezing and had this tickle in my throat.... I ignored it... And yesterday afternoon it hit me like a truck... yucky feeling, hot/cold, headache, very sore throat and the right side of my nose clogged.... :( So I have been trying to sleep but Mr. Thompson sounds like a train tonight and every little sounds wakes me up just enough long enough to make me realize I can't breathe... oh not fun at all. I do believe being sick is my least favorite thing in the world.

Tomorrow... whopps, nope today, one of biggest people in the Carino's Company is coming for a huge inspection... I really want and need to be there, but yikes, I am not sure how a have clogged up and voiceless server will look to him... I am praying for a miraclous recovery by midday!

Its now 4:09am I am going to try to semi-breath and fall back to sleep for 21 minutes before the alarm goes off for Steven.

Hope you all are well! Here's some recent pictures, of happier moments ;)

  • Happy Birthday Stevey!

Today is Steve's birthday (what's left of it)! Tonight my mom made dinner and I bought this incredible ice cream cake at Von's to celebrate. (Great for the pre-wedding diet!) Anyway... We headed out to watch the Padres at Petco... we arrived downtown at 7 and the game started at 7:05pm. We dropped my parents off at the door to buy tickets. Then Steve and I proceeded to parking.... 7:10, 7:15, 7:30.. no parking everything is full!!!!!!!! Finally knowing my car would run of gas at any point, we decided to park at Horton Plaza. GREAT IDEA! We'll buy something and get it validated for 3 hours. So we went to See's Candies, my favorite sinful pleasure! (Great again for the diet!) We each got our favs and some for my mom and dad. Ticket Validated! Head to toward the game, now its approaching 8pm!!! Knowing we are missing a lot of the game, Steve whissles for a cab... a bike cab that is. $20 later, and actually at matter of minutes we are at Petco Park. Padres 3 Reds 1!! So we are sitting in our seats, enjoying the game and Steve asks, you have the parking ticket right? I am thinking yeah... wait.... let me double check. Not in my purse... Not in my wallet... Not in my pants pockets... Not in Steve's wallet... Not in the See's bag... Not in Steve's pants pockets... My mom rechecks everything and then my dad! Then it hits I noticed that in fine print the sign at the garage said... "Lost ticket minimum... $48" GREAATTTT! Stress and frustration. See's is now closed and Steve is the calm one in this... that is normally MY part! He tells me not worry about it, really not worry! Everything is so tight right now, his birthday present had to be a raincheck... and now I have to pay $48 for a stinkin' parking ticket that I just spent money validating and gaining at least 3 pounds from eating the chocolate! LOL!  Well after a while I did let it go for the most part, the Padres played a great game and won. As we return to the parking garage we do the maze looking for 4 Avacado. We discuss the important decision whether or not an avacado is a fruit or vegetable, clearly its a vegetable, but when you are looking a two separate areas of a large parking garage you're just not as sure. Steve says, no honey I am sure its a vegetable. So we head up the levels and sure enough there's my car. Knowing I will loose it on the lady who tells me how much we have to pay, I let Steve drive and promise to keep my mouth out of it. We pull in and tell the lady we lost the ticket... sure enough she says thats a $48 ticket. Steve explains when we arrived, where we went and she says that we can go back in and go to Von's and get some gum and she will do her best to bring it down. Finally Steve tries to pull out the bag from See's to show her that we did go there. The sweet lady, asks for Steve's drivers license and ARRESTS HIM.... just kidding, she took his information and only charged us $6.00. It was a complete blessing from the Lord. So when all is said and done, we all had a fablous time, it was just a very difficult night downtown, with a great end to it all.
